Perspective: Episode 4 – Abigail Mac & Angela White & Whitney Wright & Gianna Dior & Michael Vegas & Isiah Maxwell & Seth Gamble

Jennifer (Angela White) makes breakfast while Daniel (Seth Gamble) sits staring at her. Not wanting to seem too anxious, she pretends not to notice and tries to find out what his schedule will be.

Lena (Abigail Mac) sends a text. Here is the address for tonight, she says. Jennifer turns the ringer off. I have a long day ahead, Daniel replies. Lots of work to catch up on after a late night. But I’ll be done by dinner. The phone flashes again. I was actually going to go out to a movie tonight with my girlfriends, she mutters, if that’s ok? Daniel spits his coffee out in a rage. And you would actually go …. Even after we made plans together?! I will still make you dinner, she mutters. This shirt is ruined, he screams clutching his chest. She tells him to stay put while she gets him a clean one.

Running into the master, she rummages through his closet and bathroom laundry bin for a replacement when she notices a pile of clothes stained red in the corner. She stares at them in horror. Daniel, what did you do? She whispers. He appears in the doorway. I hit a deer, he says calmly as he takes the shirt from her hands. And I’m sorry about earlier. Go have fun with your girlfriends. You deserve it. She smiles nervously before buttoning his shirt up. He grabs her wrist and moves it down to his crotch. But before you go, he says assertively, you better make it up to me. Trying to put on a brave face, she drops to her knees to service him.

As he fucks her face, her mind wanders. She imagines her husband driving. A ceramic deer on the road, as the headlights illuminate it before impact. Daniel standing over its body. The Deer’s face. Daniel’s face. A woman’s face. Daniel’s face covered in red.

Her eyes open as Daniel ejaculates in her mouth. I’m late for work, he says, and leaves. Jennifer is relieved he is gone.

That night, she goes to her final support meeting. It’s being held at an outpatient clinic. One of the volunteers works the door while Dr. Mercer (Michael Vegas) conducts the session inside. A group of fellow survivors, including Lena, are there to give Jennifer the final encouragement she needs. She stays stoic throughout.

As everyone packs up to leave, Jennifer pulls Dr. Mercer and Lena aside. She tells them about the clothing she found. Lena looks concerned. You’re not staying one more night in that place, she says, and demands that Jennifer go home with her instead. Dr. Mercer agrees that it is a good idea. You can take Jennifer to the safe house tomorrow morning, he says. He walks them to the front door and is surprised that his volunteer is no longer there. Shaking his head, he walks back inside without noticing the body behind the counter. Daniel steps out of the shadows.

Later that night. Dr. Mercer leaves the clinic and walks to his car. Just as he is about to get in, Daniel strikes him. Are you trying to make a fool out of me? Dr. Mercer begs and pleads for his safety. He doesn’t know what the stranger is talking about. Jennifer Morris, Daniel repeats. My wife! Where did she go? Is she with him now? How could you have fucked her right in front of me? Dr. Mercer is terrified. I would never do anything inappropriate with one of my patients, he pleads. Daniel continues his interrogation, spewing back lurid details of all the sex he saw. Dr. Mercer is beside himself with horror. But … I’m gay, he finally whimpers. Daniel threatens to end him unless he tells him exactly where Jennifer is. The broken doctor agrees to give the address to where she is staying and fumbles to open up his map app before Daniel strikes him one final time and rips the phone from the man’s hand.

The next morning. Jennifer wakes up in Lena’s arms. She feels safe. She texts Dr. Mercer to tell him they are going to the house and then the two women get up to shower. As they load up the car, her phone rings. Are you Mrs. Morris? The person asks. Jennifer stops. Yes, she replies. I work at the Wits End. Been trying to get a hold of you and your husband. He forgot his credit card here when you two left the other night. The pile of clothes flashes in Jennifer’s mind. I’m sorry, when was that? She asks. The bartender laughs. You were pretty wasted. It was two nights ago. The image of the deer flashes in Jennifer’s mind.

You must be mistaken, she says and hangs up the phone in a panic. Take me to the safe house please, she asks Lena. She texts Dr. Mercer again. Where are the keys? After a moment, the text changes from delivered to read. It will be unlocked, he replies.

Jennifer and Lena arrive at the house. The front door appears to be broken. Stay here, Lena says, while I check inside …just to be safe. She cautiously walks into the house while Jennifer waits outside. After a long pause, she hears Lena scream her name and bursts through the door. There, on the coach, sits Daniel. He is very still. A gun rests in his lap. Daniel, Jennifer whispers. What are you doing? He doesn’t move. Daniel, I’m leaving you, She continues. He doesn’t move. DANIEL!! Jennifer screams.

An hour later. As cops walk the scene and a detective explains what they believed had happened to her husband and the three people he is now suspected of murdering, Jennifer sits wrapped up in a blanket and held by Lena. She stares as the hole in the back of Daniel’s head drips down the couch and collects in a pool that slowly spreads towards her feet.

Jennifer is a good woman. A kind woman. An unassuming woman. Her husband, Daniel, was a psychopath. They met during an exchange trip in college. It’s been 5 years of abuse since they married and now he is finally gone. But he will never ever let her leave.

Perspective: Episode 3 – Abigail Mac & Angela White & Michael Vegas & Seth Gamble & Codey Steele

At the edge of an empty parking lot early in the morning, a man opens his trunk to reveal a collection of blackmarket weapons. Daniel (Seth Gamble) looks over each of them before pointing to a semi automatic pistol. ‘That one,’ he says. The poor husband seems dazed and beyond despair, as he hands over his money without any emotion.

He walks down the street with the phone in his hand and a dead look in his eye. When he comes to the place, he stops. This must be his fucking house. He walks up. The door is unlocked. He steps inside and slowly walks to the living room. He looks around. He sits down and waits. After a moment, the stranger his wife has been having an affair with walks into the room. He stops and stares at Daniel. Daniel stares at him. Then Jennifer (Angela White) walks in. Daniel, she screams. What are you doing? Shaking and crying, he raises his gun.

Jennifer sits in her kitchen sipping coffee. She seems worried. She knows she has to leave, even just for an hour. She had promised Dr. Mercer (Michael Vegas) she wouldn’t cancel again. Standing up, Jennifer grabs her purse off the counter and creeps to the door when she is met by a utility worker knocking (Codey Steele). He needs to read the meter. In a panic, she lets him inside and walks down the hall to her husband’s office. Daniel, she says timidly. The door opens and her husband sits staring at his computer. It isn’t even on. Daniel, I’m going to go out for an hour … just a coffee with my friend. But, the technician from Energy Solar is here and he needs to check the meter. Can you show him? Daniel looks at the man and shakes his hand. Sure hun, he says staring at her without blinking. Jennifer quickly exits the house, breathing a sigh of relief.

Later, Dr. Mercer is reading a medical journal when Jennifer knocks on the door. He lets her in and greets her with a warm hug. I’m so glad you came, he says. I’ll admit I was a bit worried after our last session ended. Jennifer sits down looking defeated. She apologizes and explains that she just needs to be careful. It’s the final few days before the move and she wants to make sure Daniel doesn’t suspect a thing. She is nearly in tears.

The frazzled woman and her doctor review the safety plan that they have been working on. Leaving an abusive relationship is overwhelming, Dr. Mercer reminds his client. She apologizes again for not having the strength to do it yet. Women often try to leave several times before finally deciding to end the relationship. There are many complicated reasons why it is difficult to leave. You shouldn’t feel guilty. She says she knows. Lena (Abigail Mac) keeps telling her the same thing. She notices a text come across her phone. It’s Daniel. Five more texts as she tries to continue her session. Finally, she can’t take it anymore. She leaves in a hurry, as her worried therapist watches her leave.

Hours later. Jennifer sits in her car around the corner from her house, as the text messages continue to come in. Each buzz makes her feel more resigned. The end is coming. She turns the ignition on and drives the rest of the way home.

When she walks inside, the house is dark. Daniel sits in the kitchen calmly. She enters, ready with an excuse. Anything to avoid a fight. Why didn’t you answer my texts? He asks. She tells him that she is sorry, her phone died. Who brought you these? He demands, pointing to the empty counter. I don’t know what you’re talking about, she responds. Daniel explodes. Was it that man I saw you with earlier? He screams. She tries to tell him it was a utility worker but, by this time, Daniel has flown into a rage. He picks up the mug she had used earlier and smashes it to the ground, as she cowers in fear. Please just trust me, she begs.

Later that night. Jennifer sits in a darkened hallway cowering over her phone while Daniel snores loudly from their bedroom. I’m sorry, she texts. I just don’t think I’m strong enough to leave him yet.

A week later. The couple drive to a hotel. His idea. She didn’t argue.

Inside, they have sex. Jennifer lays motionless while Daniel is on top of her. She just wants it to be over.

Afterwards, she excuses herself in the shower. Sitting on the toilet, she puts her head in her hands to calm down. She turns on the water and coaches herself in the mirror. If she can stick to her plan and keep him calm for just a little longer, she can make her exit safely. But she cannot do it alone. She takes a deep breath and steps inside the shower.

When she leaves the bathroom, Daniel is waiting for her. He stares right through her and a chill runs down her spine. She can see her phone on the bedside beside him. What’s wrong? She asks. He continues to stare at her. Is everything ok? She asks again. Everything is fine, he responds with a smile.

They drive home from the hotel with the radio blaring.

A week later. Daniel has been relatively quiet which makes Jennifer uneasy. She is preparing to leave him for good in three days. But things take a turn for the worse after Jennifer returns home from work. Daniel stands calmly in the driveway, waiting for her to get out of the car, before snatching her purse from her hands. I’m taking the car, he says dumping the contents of her purse on the concrete and grabbing the keys. Jennifer looks around the neighborhood in shock as he speeds off, before quickly gathering her things and rushing into the house.

She makes a call. I think he suspects something, she says. The woman on the other end of the line calms her down. Tomorrow is the final meeting. After that, we will move you into the safe house. And I’ll be there too. You can always stay with me. At least he’ll probably be gone for a few hours so you can come over and help me pack, Jennifer replies. She is talking to Lena. Lena is a woman from the same support group. She left her abusive husband years ago. She understands how tough it can be and she has been Jennifer’s confidante over the last few months.

That night, Lena and Jennifer finish packing a duffel bag to stash in Lena’s car. Jennifer is anxious about Daniel so Lena encourages her to send him a text. When Daniel replies with a curt ‘don’t wait up for me’ message, Jennifer collapses back down on the couch as Lena gives her a long hug. He’s probably wasted again, she says. Jennifer nods. If that’s the case, he won’t be home for hours, she says quietly. Lena takes Jennifer’s face in her hands. Soon, you won’t have to hide ANYTHING anymore, she says. The women stare at each other before beginning to kiss. The kiss leads to more as they undress. Jennifer is vulnerable to Lena but trusts her. She is safe. She is loved.

That night, long after Lena had left, Jennifer lays in bed when she hears the door open. It’s almost 6am. She quickly closes her eyes to pretend to be dozing. Daniel slumps in. His face and clothes are stained red but Jennifer only opens her eyes once he has gone into the bathroom and closed the door. She hears the shower and breathes a sigh of relief that she avoided spending another night with him. Two more days until she is free.

Perspective: Episode 2 – Derrick Pierce & Abigail Mac & Angela White & Whitney Wright & Alina Lopez & Gianna Dior & Michael Vegas & Isiah Maxwell & Seth Gamble

A week has passed. By now, Daniel (Seth Gamble) has read everything. Every email, every text, every social media platform. He had to understand the extent of what had been happening under his nose. Every time his wife, Jennifer (Angela White), speaks to him, all he can think about is what she is really doing. Her lies. He is obsessed. She seems to be aware that something is wrong. She’s being extra friendly. How could she betray him like this? He decides he needs to get out of the house for a while to think about things. He leaves abruptly.

Daniel goes to a bar to drown his sorrows. While there, a younger woman named Nicole (Alina Lopez) introduces herself. She’s obviously flirting. Maybe even a little obnoxious. This irritates Daniel, who wants to be alone, but it also gets him thinking: What if Jennifer felt even an ounce of what he was feeling? If he cheated on her … would she even care? Feeling distraught and desperate, he asks the woman if she lives nearby. They could go there. She eagerly agrees. He gives his credit card to the bartender.

At Nicole’s apartment, they begin to have sex. Everything is playful at first, until Daniel’s conscious begins to creep in. When he looks down at Nicole’s face, he imagines Jennifer there instead. She coaxes him and berates him for cheating, which makes him vengeful. He starts to get more aggressive, channeling his anger into the sex. Nicole enjoys it to an extent but things start to slip after Daniel cums. He stares down at the woman underneath him and all he can imagine is his wife taunting him. He cannot take it and strikes her hard across the face. Reality snaps back. Nicole is stunned and scared, she backs away from him and orders him to leave. Feeling an immediate wave of guilt, he apologies for being too rough but it’s too late .. she kicks him out anyway.

He drives down a lonely stretch of road, crying, until he cannot take it anymore. He pulls off the road and gets out to throw up. How could his wife have done this to him? Wiping his mouth, he gets back into his car and drives home.

The next morning. Jennifer makes breakfast while he sits staring at her. He can see right through her now … he knows that she cannot wait till he leaves the room. She keeps eyeing her phone. It buzzes. It must be him. The stranger. He can barely keep from exploding as images of their affair flash in his mind.

The phone buzzes again. He pours his hot coffee down his shirt … he needed to do something to distract her. Seeming anxious, Jennifer rushes to her husband’s side to help him clean up. She tells him to take his shirt off while she fetches some detergent and rushes out of the room. Alone, he darts for the phone and scans the message. They’re setting up a date RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS FACE! He is disgusted. There is an address. He scribbles it down quickly before she comes back in the room. She’s brought him a clean shirt. I’m late for work, he says, and exits. She seems relieved he is gone.

That night, he takes a taxi to the address, silently stewing in the backseat. She had told him she was going out to a movie with girlfriends. Laughable. He arrives at an upscale estate and walks around till he finds a door. A man (Derrick Pierce), dressed in a three piece suit, is waiting inside. Are you a returning member? He asks. Thinking quickly, Daniel says he is new. First time. He’s a guest. A referral. Who? Daniel pauses before muttering his wife’s name. The man stops. He gives Daniel a hard stare before allowing him to pass.

Daniel wanders through the lavish house, past clusters of people and closed doors with raunchy activities happening inside. He comes upon a crowded room. Inside, he sees his wife, naked and submissive, in the middle of a group of people. Naked men and women. All entangled, devouring her as she begs for more and more of their attention. A man (Michael Vegas) and his wife (Abigail Mac) are there, clearly the hosts of the party. They encourage Jennifer as Daniel watches in horror. Finally, when Daniel can’t take it anymore, he storms off.

Later that night. The estate is quiet and the guests have all left. The male host leaves the front door and walks to his car, his keys jingling. Daniel watches him from the bushes. Smug little pervert. Disgusting piece of shit. He storms the man and pins him against the car. How do you know my wife? What were you doing to her? Are you trying to make a fool out of me?

The host is a pathetic wimp. He begs and pleads for his safety. He doesn’t know who he is talking about. Jennifer, Daniel repeats. My wife! Where did she go? Is she with him now? How could you have fucked her right in front of me? The man looks terrified. What a coward. He tries to make excuses. He doesn’t know any man. He doesn’t know what he is talking about. Only after Daniel threatens real violence does the man break down and confess. He’ll give the address to where she is staying. Daniel drops him long enough for the man to scribble an address before punching the asshole for fucking his wife and leaving the scene. The man sits up whimpering, as he rubs his eye and watches the angry husband stalk away.

Perspective: Episode 1 – Angela White & Seth Gamble & Codey Steele

Daniel (Seth Gamble) is a good man. A kind man. An unassuming man. He works from home. He sells mortgage insurance. His wife, Jennifer (Angela White), is a substitute teacher. They met during an exchange trip in college. It’s been 5 years since they married and they have no children.

One morning while Daniel is working, Jennifer stops by his office to say she’s going out with a friend. Daniel is surprised to see a handsome stranger (Codey Steele) in his hallway but shakes the man’s hand and thinks nothing of it. She leaves and he continues working.

Later that afternoon, he walks into his kitchen and notices a bouquet of flowers. This also catches him off guard. Where did those flowers come from? Did that man bring his wife flowers? That night, he sits in the darkened kitchen waiting for his wife to return. It’s been hours. Who brought the fucking flowers? Why hasn’t she returned his calls? He is confused and frustrated. When Jennifer finally returns home, she seems off. Distant. Something is strange. He tries to confront her and they end up having an argument. She lashes out at him for not trusting her and he feels guilty.

A week later. Daniel still feels bad for having fought with his wife. Even though they’ve patched things up, the guilt remains. He has decided to take her away for the weekend to a hotel. A getaway. Something to make up for his jealous behavior. She seems pleasant but a little strained. In the hotel, they have sex. Very vanilla sex but they seem happy.

She kisses him and excuses herself to shower. While he lies in bed waiting, her phone buzzes. It buzzes again. When it goes off a third time, he picks it up and notices something strange. A blocked number is texting her. He reads the messages and is floored. The man from a week before … the man in his hallway.

They’re having an affair.

He stares in disbelief, reading their text correspondence. Arranging secret phone calls. Sending dirty and suggestive messages. She even asked the man to come to the house one day after Daniel went out – to park his car down the road and to sneak in so the neighbors wouldn’t see. The thought of this burns in his mind. He imagines the man pinning his wife against the walls of his house as she leads him to their bedroom.

The shower stops. Jennifer steps out, smiling and dripping. But her face falls when she sees Daniel. What’s wrong? she asks. He doesn’t know what to do. Does he scream? Does he breakdown? Does he storm out? She stares at him, anxiety flushing her face. He knows something … something she doesn’t realize that he knows. Something she has been trying to keep from him. A secret. A lie. A betrayal. He says nothing.

The next day, they drive home from the hotel. She carries a meaningless conversation, acting like nothing is wrong. But Daniel cannot stop thinking about what he read. She’s a fucking liar. He keeps imagining his wife and the stranger over and over again in his mind. Jennifer sucking the man’s cock. Jennifer being fucked in their own bed. Jennifer’s lustful expression as the man cums on her face.

It consumes his thoughts. The betrayal.
